Cruise aboard the historic TSS Earnslaw across to Walter Peak High Country Farm. The cruise showcases some of Queenstown’s spectacular alpine scenery and time to explore a piece of Queenstown’s living history – the one-hundred-year-old TSS Earnslaw. The TSS Earnslaw has carried many a famous visitor, including Queen Elizabeth, Prince Phillip and even President Bill Clinton.
Once at the lakeside Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant, savour the delicious aromas as the chef has the best of local produce sizzling away on the grill. This is the perfect place to spend a few hours. Its colonial architecture and sweeping grounds evoke the elegance of a bygone era.

Day 2: Queenstown City – Manapouri/Doubtful Sound (B,D)

From Queenstown take SH6 to Lumsden where you turn right towards Te Anau on SH94. After a 40 minute drive approx. 60km turn left onto Hillside-Manapouri Road to Manapouri. duration 02:15 hrs.

To get there, drive to Manapouri and park your car at the complimentary parking at the Pearl Harbour Visitor Centre. Please check in 20min before departure.
Your Doubtful Sound cruise adventure begins with a short cruise across island-studded Lake Manapouri and a coach trip over Wilmot Pass. You will then descend to Doubtful Sound to meet the crew of the Fiordland Navigator awaiting you in Deep Cove. The Fiordland Navigator is designed along the lines of a traditional sailing vessel, combining the charm of a bygone era with all modern comforts including spacious viewing decks, a dining saloon/fully licensed bar and an observation lounge. During the afternoon, you will cruise the full length of the fiord, weaving through hidden coves and waterways. Bottlenose dolphins are often encountered, fur seals bask on the rocks and, at times, rare penguins can be seen. As evening draws near, the crew will drop anchor in a sheltered cove, allowing you to explore the shoreline by kayak or tender craft (small boat) with a nature guide. For the more adventurous, there’s even a chance to go swimming. In the evening, enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the onboard chef and relax in the saloon before retiring to your cosy bed.

Day 3: Manapouri/Doubtful Sound – Te Anau (B)

Doubtful Sound - The Ship awakes, and after breakfast you have a leisurely cruise back towards Deep Cove and from there end the journey with a trip back across the Wilmot Pass and Lake Manapouri. - End of the cruise at approximately 12:30pm
· THE WILDLIFE CENTRE - The ideal setting to learn about some of Fiordland’s wildlife. The centre offers the opportunity to view the rare flightless Takahē, now restricted to the tussock grasslands of the Murchison Mountains of Fiordland as well as native waterfowl, Weka, Parakeets, Tui, Kea, Kākā and wood pigeons.
· IVON WILSON PARK - 5-minute walk from the Department of Conservation Visitor Centre that follows the lake edge before crossing the road to the park entrance. Ivon Wilson Park is an open 35-hectare park-like landscape with both introduced and native trees with views of the Fiordland Mountains. A great place for families to visit with extensive plantings and many marked trails leading to the picturesque Lake Henry which is stocked with rainbow and brown trout as a children's fishery. Licences are available at the Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre.

Day 4: Te Anau – Milford Sound (B,D)

Enjoy the thrill of jet boating down the majestic trout-filled Waiau River, to serene Lake Manapouri. Step foot into the ancient forests of Fiordland National Park for a short walk while learning about the ancient beech forest and native fauna & flora.
The trip will also include some thrilling 360 degree turns and spins.
Your jet boat ride includes a number of stops at the exact locations of the filming the "Fellowship of the Ring" on the Waiau or Anduin River, where the driver will provide insights of the filming the Lord of the Rings on this river.
In the afternoon from Te Anau, head north on SH94 towards Milford Sound, check in for your Milford Sound overnight cruise is 4pm so you will have ample time to stop and take in the spectacular scenery that Fiordland National Park has to offer. Duration approx. 1.5hrs
INCLUDED: MILFORD SOUND OVERNIGHT CRUISE ONBOARD MARINER BOAT
An overnight cruise is the ultimate way to experience Milford Sound. Onboard the Milford Mariner, it is the perfect opportunity to soak up the atmosphere and get a sense of the serenity that the fiord offers.
After boarding the Milford Mariner, guests enjoy a full length cruise of the fiord out to the Tasman Sea. The flexible nature of the cruise means there is ample time to look out for wildlife such as seals, penguins and dolphins. The Nature Guide ensures an immersive experience as guests learn all about the history and natural environment of the fiord. Activities are included, which means that guests can choose a paddle in a kayak, or hop on board a tender craft to explore the fiord up close. The boat will anchor in the shelter of Harrison Cove overnight.
A sumptuous three-course buffet dinner is served in the dining saloon, followed by a Nature Guide presentation in the forward saloon. Beverages are available for purchase at the licensed bar. Overnight accommodation is in private ensuite cabins with twin or double configuration. For breakfast, there are cooked and continental options available from the buffet. There is time for further cruising on the fiord before returning to the Milford Wharf.

Vehicle hire Queenstown Return - includes Toyota Corolla (or similar), pickup Queenstown Airport Return Airport, unlimited kilometres, standard insurance. Vehicle hire does not include fuel, or insurance excess of NZ$2500 for damages (optional full insurance recommended and additional).
Accommodation is moderate standard, twin/double, based on 2 people sharing a room. Upgrade Hotel accommodation properties are available on request at additional charge. Breakfasts are cooked except for day 5 which is continental breakfast.
