Itinerary Details

Day 1: Papeete, Tahiti
Situated on the northwest coast of Tahiti, Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia, offers a laid-back ambiance where urban vibrancy blends seamlessly with the serene Polynesian lifestyle. Immerse yourself in the local culture by exploring historical sites such as the colonial cathedral and Maison de la Reine Marau. The Vaipahi public gardens, with their lush plant life, are sure to captivate you. Don't miss the bustling municipal market, where you'll find a variety of local specialties including fresh fruits, spices, and an array of fish.

Day 2: Huahine
Located less than 200 kilometers northwest of Tahiti, Huahine Island is a hidden gem in French Polynesia. Its enchanting landscape, characterised by lush vegetation and secluded bays, exudes a mystical charm. Discover the island's treasures by exploring both la Grande Huahine to the north and la Petite Huahine to the south, where you’ll find archaeological remnants from Polynesian history. Engage with the local community in the main town of Fare or the coastal villages.

Day 3: Motu Mahana, Taha'a
On Motu Mahana, our exclusive private islet in the Taha’a lagoon, experience a traditional Polynesian barbecue with your feet in the sand. This pristine atoll, a jewel of the Society Islands, features an array of turquoise hues and offers an idyllic setting for observing tropical fish. The volcanic island of Taha’a, crowned by Mount Ohiri and Mount Puurauti, boasts a lush landscape perfect for cultivating the renowned black pearls and vanilla that are the island's key economic resources.

Days 4 & 5: Bora Bora
Bora Bora, a paradisiacal atoll in the Leeward Islands west of French Polynesia, presents a stunning natural spectacle. Its white sandy beaches and renowned lagoon, considered one of the most beautiful in the world, are mesmerising. Enjoy the island's tropical flora and the impressive silhouette of Mount Otemanu. Explore the volcanic landscape, visit local villages, and connect with the community.

Days 6 & 7: Moorea
Part of the Windward Islands just west of Tahiti, Moorea is a treasure trove of unforgettable experiences. Relax on its pristine beaches, swim in the turquoise lagoon, and revel in its lush vegetation and fragrant flowers. Your Ship

In September 2019, PAUL GAUGUIN Cruises became a part of the PONANT family, while preserving its unique character. It maintains a relaxed, international ambiance and specialised knowledge of its destinations, distinguishing it from PONANT’s other vessels. Le Paul Gauguin has been meticulously crafted to navigate the waters of Polynesia, with a shallow draft that enables it to access shallow lagoons and secluded islands for the best docking opportunities. The ship features a new interior designed by Studio Jean-Philippe Nuel, which reflects the elegance of the South Seas. Every one of the 165 cabins and suites offers an exterior view.
