Plus, there’s an optional foodie adventure up for grabs. Think satisfying tacos, local stories and serious flavour.
Morning, travellers. We've got an epic day trip planned today for extra local stories and cultural context. With a Local Guide by our side, we’ll cruise through Xochimilco’s ancient canals on colourful trajineras, checking out floating gardens, music, food boats and local life along the way. Next, we’ll visit Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul, and explore the rooms, gardens and artefacts that shaped one of Mexico’s most iconic artists.Back in Mexico City, you'll have the option to see a Lucha Libra show for a dose of masks, moves and max energy.
Goodbye, Mexico City. Time for a deep dive into ancient history. Today, we'll take on Teotihuacan (AKA the “Place Where the Gods Were Born”). A Local Guide will show us around the Avenue of the Dead, the mighty Pyramid of the Sun and even the Pyramid of the Moon, bringing centuries-old murals and history into focus. Puebla will be our home tonight. The evening is all yours to explore this city framed by volcanoes and packed with colonial colour.
Puebla's yours to shape. Wander colourful streets, chase local flavours, head out to nearby towns like Cholula or Atlixco, or go big with a volcano-landscape adventure.
Time to swap colourful city streets for mountain roads and wide-open desert views.Who's up to see giant cacti? That's what we'll check out on a desert walk through the Tehuacán–Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve. Best part? A community guide will join us to share the stories of the plants, the ecosystem and the communities connected to this wild corner of the country.Tonight, we'll move on to Oaxaca for a whole new kind of Mexico magic.
We'll kick things off with a quick orientation of Oaxaca. Then the city's all yours to get stuck into. Hit the markets, wander colourful streets, try a tlayuda, follow the music, you do you. There’s also an optional artisanal Mezcal tasting experience up for grabs today.
Today, the road climbs deep into the Sierra Norte for pine forests and mountain air. That's right, get ready for a two-day reset in the Pueblos Mancomunados! We'll arrive in Llano Grande just in time for breakfast. Then we'll hit the El Pinovete trail with a Local Guide, hiking through forest paths to a hidden waterfall. After lunch, get hands-on in a traditional pan serrano (AKA bread) workshop before sharing dinner with the community and staying overnight in rustic mountain cabins. Imagine: forest, stars, no city noise. Bliss.
After brekkie, say goodbye to your generous hosts as we begin our scenic journey back down from the pine-covered highlands. We'll arrive in Oaxaca around midday, with free time to wander markets, grab a cafe stop, hunt for last-minute crafts or soak up the city one more time. Tonight, there’s an optional farewell dinner at Los Danzantes for one final crew moment before the adventure wraps up.
Our Mexican adventure officially comes to an end today. Grab one last breakfast and say goodbye to your crew. Don't worry, memories of the markets, mountain air and big Mexico moments will be coming with you.
