Andalusia & Morocco ex Barcelona

Breakfast at the hotel before embarking on your half-day sightseeing tour around Barcelona that will allow you to discover the history of the city.

The first part of the visit consists of a guided walking tour through the small and narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter, the oldest part of the city. During this visit we will see Las Ramblas, de Cathedral Square, The Cathedral (with free time to visit the Cathedral by yourself), the Old Jewish Quarter, and other interesting places. Next, we will take our bus on a tour around the rest of the city. We will pass through the elegant Passeig de Gràcia Street, where there are located two of the most important of Gaudi’s buildings (Casa Batlló and Casa Milà “la Pedrera”), the Triumph Arc, the Olympic Village and the Olympic Port. Next we will visit the Montjuic Mountain, the main scene of the Olympic Games in the 1992. We will see the Olympic stadium from the bus and later we will have the opportunity to enjoy the panoramic views of the city riding the aerial tramway (subject to the weather conditions).

Later, we will go to a Spanish Village (Poble Espanyol). During the visit you will be given some free time to explore the craft shops, restaurants, and bars inspired by different Spanish regions. Upon completion we will leave Montjuic and come back to the city center passing through España square, the twin Venetian towers, the MNAC and the Shopping center Las Arenas, built in an old bullring. Our last stop will be Catalunya square, where we will end the tour.

Note: January to March (dates to be confirmed) the cable car doesn’t work due to revision tasks, this service will be replaced by a tapas tasting in Spanish Village.

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart from your hotel in Barcelona in your deluxe coach heading to Madrid. Please refer to your documentation for detailed departure information. Upon arrival in Madrid you will be helped with Check in. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel in Madrid.

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to Seville via Cordoba. Drive along La Mancha, Don Quixote’s land. Take a brief stop at a typical site in Puerto Lapice. Cross through the natural border of “Despeñaperros” and get into Andalusia, a region with an enormous heritage from a splendorous past. Upon reaching Cordoba, tour the impressive Mosque and other sites while strolling through the narrow winding streets towards the Jewish Quarter. In the afternoon, after a short two hours ride reach Seville. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel in Seville.

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning panoramic city tour visiting the exterior of the Cathedral (the second largest in the Catholic world after St. Peters in Rome), Santa Cruz quarter (a location of “Carmen” as well as a precisely where the myth of “Don Juan” developed), Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de España. Afternoon at leisure for you to discover exclusive views and local flavors of this active city. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel in Seville.

After breakfast at the hotel, drive south passing typical villages until you reach Ronda, where you will have free time to admire this town of Celtic origin and which has a marvelous view of the valley and mountain range. In the afternoon continue on to the Costa del Sol, one of the most modern and important international tourist areas. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel in Costa del Sol.

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive along the picturesque tourist route of Costa del Sol, arrive Algeciras or Tarifa where a ferry will be used for a short and interesting crossing of the strait of Gibraltar into Africa. Upon arrival in Morocco, disembark, clear customs and continue on by bus via Larache to Fez, the most monumental of the Imperial Cities. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel in Fez.

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a morning city tour of the most ancient and monumental of the Imperial Cities, visiting the most interesting points: the 7 gates of the Royal Palace, Jewish Quarters or Mellah, gate of Bab Bou Jelous, and walking tour of the “Medina” (Old City), declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The afternoon is free at leisure for you to continue your explorations as you see fit. Dinner and accommodation at hotel in Fez.

Breakfast and departure towards Rabat – diplomatic and administrative capital of Morocco. Visit the exterior of the Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohamed V, and the Hassan Tower. Continue to Marrakech for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel before departing for city sightseeing tour, including the Koutoubia Tower (twin tower of the Giralda in Seville), Saadines Tombs, and Bay Palace. In the afternoon walk around the medina, souks and the magic Jma El Fna Square, which is packed with fortune tellers, snake charmers, acrobats, dancers, all making the center of the city an open air theatre that requires the participation of the audience. Don’t forget your camera! Back to the hotel for free time. Dinner and accommodation at hotel in Marrakech.

Breakfast and departure to Casablanca, cosmopolitan, industrial, and economic heart of Morocco. Upon arrival, panoramic tour of the largest city in Morocco visiting the most interesting places such as the exteriors of the Great Mosque of Hassan II, Boulevard de la Corniche, United Nations Square, Habbous neighborhood and Anfa residential neighborhood. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel in Casablanca.

Breakfast and departure to Tangier. Arrival in Tangier and transfer to the port for departure to Tarifa. Continue to your hotel in Costa del Sol for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast at the hotel, depart towards the city of Granada, the incredible last stronghold of the Moorish Kingdoms. Visit the world famous Alhambra complex and Generalife Gardens, fountains, and patios that have inspired several authors, such as W. Irving who wrote “Tales of the Alhambra.” Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel in Grenada.

Drive northward toward Castilla where, surrounded by the Tagus River, stands the impressive Imperial city of Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage City where the three great cultures of the region – Christians, Moorish, and Jewish – have lived together. Replete with Spanish art, history, and spirituality, the whole town is a National Monument. Take a short guided tour through narrow streets of this historical old town then proceed with a visit to a famous “Damasquinado” (gold and silver inlaying in iron) factory. Continue to Madridfor your accommodation and overnight.
