Ireland's soul-stirring Ring of Kerry takes centre stage today as we embark on a scenic drive past its mountains, lakes and lush green countryside – unquestionably one of the most scenic routes in Ireland. We'll see Daniel O'Connell's Cahirciveen, the fishing village of Waterville, Moll's Gap and the Black Valley, whose remote location led to the area becoming the last in Ireland to receive electricity. Later, head to a local restaurant for dinner.
Today we journey to the magnificent Cliffs of Moher. These sheer cliffs plunge dramatically into the Atlantic Ocean, providing endless ocean views and wonderful photographic opportunities during your experience at this UNESCO-listed highlight along the Wild Atlantic Way. You’ll be enchanted by its irresistible landscapes, and may delight in occasional wildlife sightings. Take an opportunity to explore the interactive visitor centre, which brings the whole experience to life from the perspective of the resident wildlife that find sanctuary here. Later, we arrive in Limerick for an orientation.
Our journey takes us to Westport for an orientation. Heading north, we arrive in Donegal, a town home to one of Ireland's three fjords, Lough Swilly. This will be our home for the night.
En route to Belfast, stop in Londonderry for an optional locally guided tour of the Troubles. Visit the Giant’s Causeway, treading in the legendary footsteps of Finn MacCool and marvel at the 40,000 interlocking basalt columns fading into the sea. This evening we will head to a local restaurant for dinner.
