Margaret River and Karri Valley 4WD Exploration

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Perth, Busselton

Arrive in Perth and be transported to the stunning Mandoon Estate. Join Noongar Elder, Dale Tilbrook, for bush tucker. Be enthralled as Dale shares stories from decades gone by, and sample the delicious bush tucker for lunch Continue on to Pullman Bunker Bay, home for the next three nights. Settle in and enjoy dinner here tonight.

Day 2: Margaret River

Today is all about sampling the region’s outstanding produce. Start with a visit to a local chocolate factory, located on a peaceful and picturesque rural property just 20 minutes from Margaret River. Visitors are treated to free chocolate tastings, interactive displays, viewing windows to watch the chocolate products being made and a friendly atmosphere. After your signature experience lunch, sample a decadent range of nougat created in store at Bettenay’s Margaret River, which specialises in wine and nougat.  There’ll be time to treat yourself to coffee by the lake on the beautiful grounds.

Enjoy a tour, tasting and seasonal lunch at Leeuwin Estate. Celebrating the combination of fine wine, food, art and music, Leeuwin features an award-winning restaurant, cellar door and art gallery.

Day 3: Jewel Cave, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

Start your day with a tour of Jewel Cave, a magical, crystal-encrusted wonder comprising of three massive chambers. It is also home to one of the longest straw stalactites found in any tourist cave in Australia. Stroll the grounds of Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, the tallest lighthouse on mainland Australia, where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. Take a trip through maritime history during a visit to the Interpretive Centre and learn how this famous landmark was constructed from local limestone in 1895 and is still a vital working lighthouse for vessels navigating the treacherous cape. Return to your resort to enjoy some relaxation with an afternoon at leisure. Perhaps stroll the beach, have a hit of tennis or simply relax by the pool.

Day 4: Margaret River, Karri Forest, Pemberton

This morning, enjoy free time at the Margaret River Farmer’s Market, where you’ll find the region’s finest seasonal farm produce and artisan foods. Browse the retails stores along the main street before heading to Pemberton to board the Pemberton Tram, which conveys tourists through deep forests and picturesque countryside as well as recreating the history of the timber railways that were so important to the region's development and growth. Following a Signature Experience dinner at Jaspers Bar, enjoy a restful evening at the Karri Valley Resort on the edge of the tranquil Lake Beedelup.

Dine like a local on expertly prepared seasonal cuisine at Jaspers Bar in the heart of Pemberton this evening. Renowned for its gourmet food, selection of outstanding local wines and the finest collection of whisky and bourbon in south-west Western Australia, Jaspers is the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the region. 

Day 5: Truffle Hill, Karri Valley Resort

Venture to the heart of truffle country today, where you’ll have the opportunity to indulge in some of the world’s finest black Périgord truffles. Sample truffle infused products and enjoy a delightful lunch. Enjoy time at leisure this afternoon when you return to your accommodation at the beautiful Karri Valley Resort. Perhaps climb into a kayak and enjoy a paddle on Lake Beedelup. You may also enjoy a hike through native bushland to the soothing Beedelup Falls, which cascade down a series of rockfaces between stands of giant karri trees. Or kick your feet up and take in this stunning setting before a farewell dinner at the resort’s Lakeside Restaurant this evening.

Day 6: Depart Perth

After breakfast this morning, return to Perth for your onward flight.
