Day 1: Athens – Corinth Canal – Mycenae – Nafplion (L)

This morning you will be collected from your hotel for a two day tour to some of Greece’s wonderful classical sights. This programme includes a free afternoon and morning to allow you to see more of the picturesque town of Nafplion that the Venetians called “Naples of Greece”.

Follow the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf passing the Corinth Canal which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea. Continue to Mycenae, the Homeric city of Atreides – the city rich in gold according to the ancient poets. Visit the Lion’s Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, and the Royal Tombs.

Later continue through the fertile plain of Argolis to the charming Nafplion. This picturesque town nests at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress. Afternoon at leisure to explore the city at your own pace. Overnight Nafplion.

Day 2: Nauplion – Epidaurus – Athens (B)

Today leave for Epidaurus to visit the Theatre, famous for its astonishing acoustics this theatre dates back to 4th century B.C. Make your way back to Athens for an early evening arrival (approx. 7pm). Accommodation is not included in Athens this evening.

The Greek government have established a climate resilience tax for all tourists staying in any kind of Hotel, Apartment, Villa, etc. in any destination in Greece. This tax is applied locally and is payable directly by guests at check-in. The tax is a fixed Euro amount and ranges from EUR2 to EUR15 per room per night, depending on the hotel category.
