Day 1: Seoul – Gyeongju

This morning you will be picked up and driven the 4.5 hours to Gyeonju. Following lunch you will be taken to Seokguram Grotto, a stone temple built over a period of 24 years in the eighth century, and then on to Bulguksa Temple – famed around the world for its beauty. Later in the day you will be driven to your hotel to spend the evening at leisure.

Day 2: Gyeongju – Busan (B)

This morning begins with a visit to the large ancient tombs of Daereungwon, followed by the 7th century Cheomseongdae astronomical observatory. The short drive to Busan is followed by a lunch break after which you will have a trip to Nurimaru APEC House on Dongbaekseom Island. Next it is onto the impressively state-of-the-art Busan Aquarium, which contains over 35,000 marine animals in over 36,000 square metres of facilities. Late afternoon you will be taken to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Busan (B)

Following the Korean War refugees who fled to Busan set up stalls in order to make a living, and this was the beginning of the Gukje Market (gukje meaning international in Korean). The Gukje Market is one of Korea’s largest markets and this is where you will spend most of this morning. Later, head to the Busan International Film Festival district before having a break for lunch.

In the afternoon visit the New Zealand Monument at the UN Memorial Cemetery before being returned to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore in your own style.

Day 4: Busan – Seoul (B)

Today you will be transferred from Busan to Incheon airport for your onward flight or to connect to your own arrangements in Seoul.
